My (Revised) Duolingo Strategy
I have been thinking about how I go about my language learning using Duolingo. Now that I’ve sustained my Top 3 position in the Diamond League for a few weeks, I’m rethinking my learning strategy.
New Language Project: Norwegian and Danish
I’ve been tinkering with Norwegian and Danish for a while now on Duolingo and they’re similar to Swedish. I enjoy learning both and it’s time to get serious with them. I bought some books for a more in-depth study expanding on my knowledge of the Scandinavian languages (also called North Germanic languages).
My Duolingo: Diamond League
Success! I managed to reach the Duolingo final Diamond League AND kept my #1 position.
Do check out my previous posts here and here where I talk about my history with the little green owl and where I am at with the languages I am learning.
More on Duolingo
I have been very busy in the last two weeks defending my first position in Duolingo and climbing up the final League: Diamond.
My previous post speaks of my history (when I got started) with the little green owl and a brief status update. In this one, as at today, I have accumulated a total of 90,148 XP (short for “Experience Points”).
Kató Lomb
A few days ago, I received my order of Alex Rawlings' book, HOW TO SPEAK ANY LANGUAGE FLUENTLY. I'm now on page 84 and Kató Lomb was mentioned in the introduction, so I started to research more about her. She was a Hungarian interpreter, translator and one of the first simultaneous interpreters in the world. My research brought me to TESL-EJ website where I found three of Lomb’s books.
